How to tether android phone wirelessly to a mac without applications or rooting! Video

this is the easiest way to tether your phone to your mac and it requires no downloads or rooting. it does it through bluetooth. Its so easy i figured it out all by myself. There are pretty much no vids or tutorials on how to do this so i thought i would make one for you guys.

WRITTEN TUTORIAL:
1. enable bluetooth on PHONE and COMPUTER
2. make bluetooth discoverable on PHONE and COMPUTER
(EVERYTHING FROM HERE ON IS DONE ON THE COMPUTER)
3. go to bluetooth preferences
4. press the "+" to add your phone
5. once it finds it click it then click continue
6. when the passcode comes up on the computer and phone, click pair on the phone first, then continue of the computer
7. a screen titled "bluetooth mobile phone setup" will pop up
8. leave everything the way it is even if its blank and hit continue then quit.
9. go to Network in your system preferences and check internet sharing
10. Press the "+" sign
11. make the interface bluetooth PAN and the name bluetooth PAN and click continue
12. select your phone from the drop down menu and press the conect box right below it

This video ONLY works if your phone supports the bluetooth PAN? (personal area network) profile.. If your phone does not have this profile, this video will not work for you.... The idiot said in his title HOW TO TETHER ANDROID... well not all android phones have bluetooth PAN...!!!!!

@ZacharyDavidR your droid does not have Bluetooth PAN profile, which is WHY it does not work for you... This nim-rod should have? been more specific on bluetooth tethering cause not all phones can do it.. Does not matter if its a MAC or PC, if your phone does not support Bluetooth PAN, it wont work...

@ThinkPureTruth i ...
@ThinkPureTruth i have not seen a $30 charge on my bill for using this bluetooth workaround? and i use it all the time on the go. i think its because when you use the internet from your phone on your computer via bluetooth, the phone thinks it borrowing it instead of it becoming a second user. also there is no process related to tethering when i do it.

Why is it mt ...
Why is it mt understanding that the cell provider will see a tether but not? a rooting. Tethering is another 30 mth charge even if you only use it 1ce per month. Some have told me that rooting keeps the process invisible to the provider. Thanks for your future comment. Take care.

dude your awesome thank you SOOO much. just to let you know all throughout the internet, various places list directions on how to connect droid x to mac via bluetooth. on all of them, they skip one key step which you cleverly included which is to go to the SHARING folder and CHECK the box that says internet sharing. i was going insane wondering why? it wasnt working when i followed all the steps people listed. reason was that the internet sharing box wasnt clicked. so ya your vid is superior =)

@djartman1 what? ...
@djartman1 what? the only thing you do on your phone is turn on bluetooth, make it discoverable, and click pair when the? passcode pops up. after that everything is done on the computer. if you still need help just ask
